Should you fall down
Before you get up again
Ask yourself who you are
Where are you going
And where do you want to be
What does it take to get you there
I follow the river downstream
For fourty eight years and a day
Untill I reached the sea
Where the wind howled my name
There never was
An easy way out of here
Not a word a thing you could say
To make it right
To make it turn around again
You never had a real choice to make
I follow the river downstream
For fourty eight years and a day
Untill I reached the sea
Where the wind whispered my name
About Should You Fall Down
This is the more jazzy, bluesy song from the album. I wanted it to have a lighter feel, somewhat contrasting with the heavier lyrics about self-reflection, resilience and acceptance.
The lyrics reflect a dialogue between verses and chorus and exchange impressions and experiences with words of solace. At the same time the chorus alludes to the bridge of ‘Into The Great Unknown’.
